Tipton Snap Caps 9mm Luger-Precision Metal Base Snap Cap-Pack of 5 (303958)
$18.68
Product Description
Snap Caps have a variety of uses around the bench and at the range. It is generally accepted that one shouldn't drop the firing pin on an empty chamber - which is the primary reason to have Snap Caps for your favorite guns. You should always use Snap Caps when checking or adjusting the trigger pull. If you prefer to release the tension on the hammer springs, when storing your guns, Snap Caps are ideal.
Tipton Snap Caps are also great for live fire training. Go the range and have someone else load your magazines and randomly place snap caps in them along with live ammo. When you shoot you'll have a FTF (failure to fire) and you will have to deal with the malfunction. This is perfect training for clearing a FTF in a real world situation. If you are serious about your training, this is a great product to have. Whatever your needs, these Tipton Snap Caps are handy and inexpensive.

All about the internal spring
Posted by Sidney on 10th Dec 2023
These dummy rounds allow safe operation of dry firing, magazine loading/unloading, and function checks. These snap caps are immediately distinguishable from actual 9mm rounds, but they are not the same length as actual 9mm rounds. They will still fit in your pistol's magazine and chamber, but they do not correspond to the actual length, weight, and feel of real 9mm rounds. They're more expensive than other dummy rounds, but the internal spring is designed to preserve the internal striker of a modern pistol.
